Is the Banking Sector most corrupt in the country. It seems so going by the number of cases reported to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), these days. Cases pertaining to this sector account for 45 per cent of the total number of cases reported to the CVC.

Best Financial management in Chhattisgarh

Industry Associations and Union Finance Ministry circles are highly impressed with Chhattisgarh government's public finance management. The state has succeeded in keeping establishment expenditure at less than 40% of it's revenues for the second year in succession. What is more the tax revenues are growing at more than 25 % ,the highest in the country. Increased coal royalties have come as a bonus to Ajit Jogi government.

Virk to stay back in Punjab

The Union Home Ministry has agreed to continue the services of 1970 batch Maharashtra cadre IPS officer S S Virk in Punjab.

Atindra Sen is new Registrar Delhi University

Madhya Pradesh cadre 1978 batch IAS officer Atindra Sen has been appointed Registrar of the Delhi University. Currently he is posted in the IAS Academy Mussorie.Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Government has asked for the services of Atindra Sen for a period of three years.

Oil Companies and Tax Evasion

The oil companies in Assam are under scrutiny by the Bureau of Investigation's Economic Offences Wing. The Bureau suspects that these companies are involved in Tax evasion in a big way.

IPS officer, R L Meena, is back to Delhi Police from Andman&Nicobar .He has been posted in the Departmental Vigilance Cell.

WB govt seems really bankrupt !

Even as, all the states are cash-starved these days, the condition of the West Bengal seems to be the worst. Things have reached to such a pass that it is not even in a position to foot the Tea-bill of the secretariat with the result that the state Tourism Corporation suuplying tea had to stop. The Corporation was to take Rs. 18 lakh on account of the same.

DRM's transfer

Over two dozen DRM's have been reshuffled.G N Asthana will be new DRM Baroda.Madhav Pathak has been appointed DRM Mumbai Central. Other new postings include Mssrs Keshav Chandra Ambala,B P Khare Jabalpur,Vishva Daman Ratlam and Neeraj Kumar Sonpur.

IPS changes in UP

Dr N Ravindra and Shridhar Pathak have been appointed new SP's of Balrampur and Ravidas Nagar respectively.Ram Sevak has been shifted to CID Lucknow.

Award to Asha Shukla

Mrs Asha Shukla of Bhopal was honoured with Mehdi Nawaz Jung National Award at Hyderabad on Saturday.She is the wife of M K Shukla the outgoing Director of the National Police Academy.
