Secretary Textiles S B Mohapatra is unlikely to take over as Secretary Personnel in Government of India on December 1. In all probability he would continue to be Secretary Textiles.He is 1967 batch IAS officer of Orissa cadre.

K N Desiraju to be JS Personnel

K N Desiraju is being tipped to be Joint Secretary Personnel in Government of India. He is 1978 batch IAS officer of Utaranchal cadre.

Seventeen JS in compulsory waiting

As many as 17 joint secretaries are said to be in compulsory waiting with the Government of India. These include also from the services other than the IAS.

Will Kashyap be Mumbai Police Commissioner ?

K K Kashyap is likely to be appointed next Police Commissioner of Mumbai. 1969 batch IPS officer Kashyap is returning to the parent cadre from the BSF without completing his tenure.

Yet another example of a technocrat prevailing over the IAS has come to light.Succumbing to the pressure of the ONGC Chairman Subir Raha the Department of Personnel has agreed to send the name of 1977 batch UP cadre IPS officer C B Sathpathi for the post of CVO . Only last month the DoPT had turned down the proposal of the appointment of Satpathi in the ONGC.Deputation tenure of Sathpathi in the Indian Oil Corporation is coming to an end in January.
