Bureaucratic Changes in Government of India today !

Bureaucratic changes in the Government of India are expected in a day or two. Secretary Banking D C Gupta will be new Secretary Revenue. Special Secretary Urban Development Vinita Rai is being appointed Secretary Banking. Some Additional Secretary level changes are also expected.

IFS losing its sheen

The new entrants in the Civil Services are further losing interest in the Indian Foreign Services (IFS). Things have reached to such a pass that it has now become the fourth choice of the new entrants. Earlier it used to be the third choice, after IAS and the IPS, but now Indian Revenue Services (IRS) is on number three.

No UP, IAS or no IAS !

The Civil Servants have become so disinterested in going to Uttar Pradesh, after Bihar, that they are prepared to leave IAS for not going to such states. One new comer of Karnataka has already done it. He preferred to join as IPS in Kerala rather than going to UP as an IAS.

Rajendra Kumari Bhattacharya appointed CS HP

Rajendra Kumari Bhattacharya has been appointed new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh. 1967 batch IAS officer Ms Bhattacharya would succeed Harsh Gupta who is superannuating this month end.

Madan to retire this month

Member Union Public Service Commission, K K Madan, is retiring this month end. He is a technocrat.

Khullar to be India.s Ambassador to Bulgaria

D K Khullar will be India,s new Ambassador to Bulgaria. He would succeed Neelima Mitra who is going to Colombia.

Sathyam to lead Indian delegation

Outgoing Chairman of the Tariff Authority for Major Ports, S Sathyam, will lead the Indian delegation on technical textiles to the United States. The delegation would leave the country on October 23.

IAS changes in Bihar

R C Vaish will be new Labour Secretary. Ashiqui Ibrahim has been appointed Secretary Mines.


Punjab ahead in IPS promotions !

Punjab seems to be much ahead in granting promotions to the IPS. It is the only state where a 1991 batch IPS has been made DIG.

CVC to have new member

CVC would soon be having one more new member- this time - an expert in banking in view of the growing frauds and embezzlements in banks and other financial institutions.

K Ashok Vardhan Shetty has been made Commissioner Archeology. S K Prabhakar has been posted as Additional Secretary Health.

Justice G B Pattanaik appointed CJI

Justice Gopal Ballav Pattanaik has been appointed new Chief Justice of India with effect from November 8. He would succeed Justice Kripal.

Changes in Delhi Police in a day or two !

K K Paul is being appointed Special Commissioner (Administration). Kiran Bedi is likely to be posted as Joint Commissioner Special branch. Some other changes are also likely to take place.
