Goa Chief Secretary, Baleshwar Rai, is being tipped to be the Additional Secretary-Labour in the Government of India. 1970 batch IAS officer of the UT cadre has been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary during the last review meeting.

Dr Pachauri gets Secretary rank

Dr S K Pachauri, Secretary, Lebrahan Ayodhya Commission of Enquiry has been promoted to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India. He is 1968 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre.

Priyadarshi Thakur is new AS & FA MEA

Priyadarshi thakur has taken over as the new Additional Secretary and FA in the Ministry of External Affairs. 1970 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Thakur was MD of the NAFED prior to this new assignment.

CBI starts probe against two senior IAS officers

The CBI has started investigations against two Secretaries in the Government of India and a top RBI official for sanctioning Rs 20 crore loan to a defunct company.

Gokhle to be shifted

A M Gokhle, Additional Secretary, in the Ministry of Forests and Environment is being shifted in a weeks time .His shifting has been necessiated following the posting of his batchmate V K Duggal in the Ministry as Special Secretary. Gokhle who is 1968 batch IAS officer of Nagaland cadre has been empanelled to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India.

Suri and Digvekar promoted in CBI

A W Digvekar and A K Suri have been promoted to the rank of Joint Directors in the CBI. Both the officers are from the CBI cadre.

Post of Dy Governor RBI will not be created

New post of Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, is not being created. Reserve Bank of India Governor Bimal Jalan has said "No", to this proposal.
