Violating all possible rules mentioned in the rule book, the Government of India has appointed Jammu & Kashmir cadre 1971 batch IAS officer, Sohan Behari Mathur, as Director General of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC). Order of Mathur's appointment came directly from the Prime Minister's office without the knowledge of the Textiles Minister Kanshi Ram Rana and the ACC. The post had been lying vacant for the last several months.

1988 batch IPS officers promoted in CBI

Four 1988 batch IPS officers Mssrs Pankaj Singh, Sundari Nanda, Prabodh Kumar and Sudhir Mishra have been promoted to the rank of DIG in the CBI.

Finally O P Arya, Joint Secretary Home (Police), in theGovernment of India is back to the parent Uttranchal cadre after completion of his extended tenure. 1975 batch IAS officer Arya is currently on leave.

A K Jain in new JS (Police) in GoI

Akhil Kumar Jain is the new Joint Secretary Home (Police ) in the Government of India. 1973 batch West Bengal cadre IAS officer Jain has succeeded O P Arya.

Anant Kumar Dhul is joining the Government of India as CVO in the Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi, for a period of three years. He is 1985 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre.

Two junior level posts to fall vacant in GoI

Satish Singh Thakur and Narmadeshwar Lal will be new Collectors of Aurangabad and Samastipur respectively.Bimbadhar has been made Collector Araria.Twenty IPS officers have also been transferred in the state.
