Pak improving in corruption, India not

While corruption in India is increasing by the day, its bete noire Pakistan is doing just the reverse if one was to go by the projections of an International Organisation , Germany based- Transparency International. India's position has changed from 72 nd to 73 rd in the list of 108 countries, mentioned in the survey, while Pakistan's position has changed from 79th to 77th. Bangladesh has, however, come out as the most corrupt country and Finland the least.

Ashok Darbari appointed DGP Chhattisgarh

Ashok Darbari has been appointed Director General of Police Chhattisgarh. 1968 batch IPS officer Darbari would succeed V K Das who is superannuating this month end.

Madiyal to be DGP of Karnataka

T Madiyal is being appointed DGP of Karnataka. He is 1966 batch IPS officer. Madiyal will replace 1965 batch IPS officer V V Bhaskar who is superannuating this month end.

Will Raghuvendra Singh succeed as Finance Minister's PS ?


Finance Minister Jaswant Singh wants Raghuvendra Singh as his PS. But the PMO and the DoP are not willing as the 1983 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre Raghuvendra Singh had been on deputation for several years. It however seems that the Finance minister may prevail upon the PMO and the DOP and Singh may be made his PS.

Uttaranchal proposal turned down
