A couple of Secretary level changes are being made in Government of India in a day or two.Secretary Coal 1966 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer Nishikant Sinha is all set to join the Planning Commission as Member-Secretary.

Will Ashok Saikia be Chief Secretary of Assam ?

Will Ashok Saikia return to the parent Assam-Meghalaya cadre as Chief Secretary ?.Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is believed to have given an offer to Saikia to this effect. Ashok Saikia who is a low profile Joint Secretary in the PMO has recently been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary in Government of India.Incidently,only a couple of IAS officers are senior to him in the state government and all will retire next year.

Tuk Tuk Kumar is JS-North-East Affairs

Tuk Tuk Kumar has taken over as Joint Secretary, North-East Affairs, in the Government of India. He is 1981 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre.

Chug is Dy Secretary Forests and Environment

Central Civil Service officer Chugh has joined the Ministry of Forests and Environment as Deputy Secretary. He has succeeded Postal Service Officer Vandita Kaul.

States agree but Personnel's `no'

Bihar Government wants to arrest 1977 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Ashok Kumar Sing in connection with a vigilance case. Bihar Government has sent a message to the Jharkhand Government in this matter.
