Empanelment of 1969 batch IPS in December

Empanelment of 1969 batch IPS officers to the rank of DG in Government of India is expected to take place in December.About 20 officers will be considered for the empanelment.

Cabinet secretary annoyed

Annoyed over the posting of Maharshtra cadre IAS officers and not the others on the post of the Chairman of the Mumbai Port Trust, Cabinet secretary T R Prasad has this time decided to have some one from other than the Maharshtra cadre. The post is lying vacant for the past few months since the repatriation of Maharastra cadre 1967 batch IAS officer Arun Kumar Mago. There are as manay as half a dozen aspirants for the post but all from the same Maharashtra cadre.

No more DG Tourism

The post of DG-Tourism is likely to be abolished after the promotion of the present incumbent, VK Duggal, as Secretary in the Government of India. Promotion of 1968 batch UT cadre IAS officer Duggal is expected to take place in a couple of months.

Is the RSS becoming a political outfit?

Is the Rashtriyaswayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) turning its colour and becoming a political outfit? Answer to this question is 'yes' if recent developments are considered. RSS spokesperson M.G.Vaidya had given a political statement about Gujarat, in Mumbai recently. Senior RSS leader Kapatan Singh Solanki had addressed a training of BJP workers in Bhopal. This is a major departure from established practice of the RSS.

Amod Kanth goes on study leave

Amod Kumar Kanth ,1974 batch UT cadre IPS officer has proceeded on a year's study leave. B K Gupta has succeeded him in Delhi.

Dearth of IPS at lower level

In Madhya Pradesh there is a complete dearth of IPS officials at the lower level. Of the 230 IPS in the state, 105 are DIG and above.

Promotions in Income Tax this month

About one dozen 1970 batch IRS officers are being promoted to the rank of Chief Commissioner Income Tax this month.

IPS changes in Rajasthan

Utkal Ranjan Sahu, Rajesh Nirvan and Neel Dutta have been made SP's of Shri Ganganagar, Kotasu and Dausa respectively. B L Soni has been shifted to the EOW. Sanjay Agrawal has been appointed SP Jaipur (South). P D Sharma and Govind Gupta will be SP's of Nagaur and Sawai Madhopur respectively. S C Vyas has been made AIG Training Jaipur. Dinesh M N and Chunni Lal have not been given postings.

IAS transfers in UP

Panchayati Raj Principal Secretary Anil Kumar has been shifted to the Social Welfare Department. S P Arya will be new PS Panchayati Raj. A K Khurana has been made PS Science and Technology. Dharmendra Dev Mishra will be Judicial Member of the Revenue Board Allahbad.

Trinath Mishra gets additional charge of CISF

DG CRPF Trinath Mishra has been given concurrent charge of the post of DG CISF from the day H J Dora relinquishes of his post of DG CISF. Dora has been appointed Member of the Central Vigilance Commission.

Mohanty gets new posting in J&K

M K Mohanty has been appointed ADG Security. Post of ADG Security was earlier held by P S Gill. Sheikh Owais Ahmad DIG will look after the charge of of IG Home Guards.

Darvesh Sahib joins NPA

Sheikh Darvesh Sahib has joined the National Police Academy Hyderabad as Assistant Director. He is 1990 batch IPS officer of Kerala cadre.

IPS officer arrested

Haryana cadre 1977 batch IPS officer Harish Kumar has been arrested by the Delhi police. He has been charged of smuggling and evading customs.

Gavai envoy to Maldives

Sashishekhar Madhukar Gavai has been appointed country's next High Commissioner to Maldives. He is India'' Consul General in Edinburg.
