Competition Commission from October 1

Competition Commission will become operational from October 1.Over 100 large corporate houses who assets are more than Rs 1000 crores or whose annual turnover is more than 3000 crores will come be under regular scanner of the Commission.

UK to create a pool of police officers

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in the UK is seeking up to 200 volunteers to create a pool of UK police officers for potential deployment to Iraq to assist in the reform of the Iraqi Police Service. The pool is intended to sustain the deployment of up to 100 UK officers at any one time.Does that ring a bell for any IPS officer in India? Going by the sturdy, solid as a rock image that it has Punjab Police should be the first to volunteer for Iraq.In fact if Bush has troubles finding weapons of mass destruction made by Saddam Hussein, he could request smart cops of Punjab Police to help him, who've supposedly found out even the minutest of the details of Badal's family and his family tree.

Tokyo post lying vacant

Post of Minister Embassy of India in Tokyo has been lying vacant for the last one year.A couple of panels had been rejected during the intervening period.1976 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer S Sundareshan who was holding the post is back to the parent state.

Stir by ONGC staff and its disgruntled Director !

While recent helicopter crash is tragic it is believed that a Director is behind the strike called by employees in violation of court orders.This Director has personal grudge against CMD Subir Raha for asking CVO to investigate some matters against him & also relegating him to a relatively light portfolio.As this Director is close to one ex-Congress Union Home Minister (They are conducting various activities in New Delhi guest house of ONGC) he has used his influence to stir up the union in Maharashtra via state Government.
