organisations as long as 4 to 5 leaders of old generation are there.Otherwise, there is going to be civil wars in both parties for supremacy.This was deduced during a high profile party in Delhi.

CMD of the Indian Airlines Sunil Arora is likely to be appointed Chairman of the Air India also.There is a serious move to merge the Air India and Indian Airlines to enable Sunil Arora to head both Airlines. 1980 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Arora is considered to be the most powerful bureaucrat in Government of India.

It is rare to find children of bureaucrats doing outstandingly especially in literary sphere.Here is an exception. Thomas Jacob son of Jacob Thomas 78 batch IAS officer and currently posted as Chairman, Cochin Port Trust has already authored a book tittled " Trek the stars". This thought provoking and easy to read book is the maiden attempt of the young author who is still in the college.
Jacob Thomas himself is a renowned artist.

How was the training programme in Mussoorie?

There was an in-service trg. conducted by the IAS Academy, Mussoorie from 21st July to 1st Aug. 2003 for the IAS batches belonging to 1994 to 1997 batches. Tamil Nadu and UP dominated in numbers and the officers from these two cadres vociferously dominated during the course. And, the faculty of the Academy for the first time was found to be proud of their erstwhile probationers doing pretty well not only in the lively discussions but also convinced that these fellows are doing well in the field also. Faculty was in full praise that these officers raised hope to the fact that IAS can rediscover its lost glory. Are the meek seniors in the IAS listening?
