I invite your attention to the following report carried by your website:Nov 26, 2003 "Controversial IAS officer, whom the grapevine has it left supporting Badal just at the time, Badal was on his way down and made some important documents and letters pertaining to Badal public , Sarvesh Kaushal has also been sidelined as Commissioner Surplus Pool.Though he has managed to earn the additional post of Secy, Planning. Is that a late yet meaningless reward for Kaushal by the Congress govt??"I am shocked with disbelief at the uncalled for, false and defamatory aspersions cast upon me. Let me make the facts clear. I served as Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and in addition Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Public Works ( Buildings and Roads) with absolute sincerity till the date the former Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal demitted office. It is highly uncalled for to suggest that a bureaucrat so positioned had "left supporting" the Chief Minister while holding crucial assignments till the last day of his tenure. It is all the more an obnoxious character assassination to suggest that I made "some important documents and letters" public. It is patently false. It's not only mud-slingling, but clearly a fulmination of someone out to settle a personal score. It has been stated by your correspondent that I have been sidelined in the current transfer as Commissioner Surplus Pool, though the fact is that I was posted as Commissioner in May 2003 and not now. During the term of the present government, I have already held such assignments as Secretary Local Government, Secretary Animal Husbandry, Secretary Transport etc. so far. Can the routine order of assigning additional charge of Secretary Planning during the recent transfers even remotely justify the scandalous reporting that has certainly defamed me ? This is especially when your own report lacks any conviction whatsoever and calls it a reward on the one hand , and meaningless on the other ? Your website has knowingly caused a colossal damage to my reputation and character and squarely amounts to criminal defamation.I call upon you through this letter to publish my letter verbatim in your website as prominently and in the same manner as the aforestated defamatory report immediately, alongwith an unconditional apology, failing which I shall be left with no other remedy to proceed against you in the court of competent criminal and civil jurisdiction.
