18 ,IPS officers shortlisted

18 IPS officers of 1969 batch have been shortlisted for the empanelment to the rank of DG in the Government of India. Empanelment is now expected to take place in a month or two. Those shortlisted are Mssrs Jyoti Kumar Sinha (Bihar), A C Bhargava (Gujarat), M S Malik (Haryana), Tashi Dawa (Himachal Pradesh), A K Suri (J&K), B N P Albuerque (Karnataka), Swaraj Puri and S K Das (Madhya Paradesh), K K Kashyap (Maharastra), Mathew John (MT), R K Gupta (Punjab), Arun Dugar and N N Meena (Rajasthan), Himanshu Kumar and Vijay Shankar (Uttar Pradesh) and Kanwal Jit Singh, Sujoy Kumar Chakraborty and Karuna Kanta Das (West Bengal).

Vivek Rae to be JS Expenditure

Vivek Rae is being appointed Joint Secretary - Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance. He is 1978 batch IAS officer of the UT cadre. He is currently Joint Secretary in the department of Revenue.

MT cadre officers to go abroad

Rohit Kumar Singh, an IAS officer of 1989 batch, Manipur-Tripura cadre, and Nina Singh, IPS, MT, 1989 have been admitted to Kennedy School of Government for Mason Program

Two 1987 batch IAS to return J&K

Two 1987 batch IAS officers Sudhanshu Pande and Pradip Kumar Tripathi who are on deputation to the Government of India are being repatriated to the parent J&K cadre this month. The new Government had asked for the services of the two officers.

Sarna is ahead

Ramchandran is back to Uttaranchal

M Ramchandran, Joint Secretary - Shipping, is back to the parent Uttaranchal cadre six months ahead of his Central deputation tenure. On his return 1972 batch IAS officer, Ramchandran, has been appointed Principal Secretary Education and Technical Education.

Khirwar is new ADC to Haryana Governor

Sandeep Khirwar is the new ADC to the Haryana Governor, Babu Parmanand. He is 1995 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre.

First non-IAS is Adviser to World Bank ED

For the first time in India's history, one of the positions at the World Bank, that of Advisor to ED, has gone to someone from outside the IAS. Vinayak Ghatate, 31, son of RSS' principal advocate, N.M.Ghatate, has joined the ED's office which currently has two former PS' to PM, Shakti Sinha - (IAS1979,AGMUT) currently on one-year extension and Anand Rajan - (IRS.'88). Ghatate was working in an NGO - SEWA before getting the prestigious job, newly created for him by the World Bank.

IPS changes in Uttaranchal

Vijay Raghav Pant has been appointed IG - Kumaon Range while P K Joshi has been shifted to the PAC as IG.

Promotions in Union Bank
