Empanelment of 1983 batch IAS

Altogether 87 IAS officers of 1983 batch have been empanelled to the rank of Joint Secretary in Government of India. Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has cleared the empanelment last week.

Ramaswamy to return to Utaranchal

S Ramaswamy, on deputation to the Government of India, is returning to the parent Uttaranchal cadre this month after completion of his five year tenure. 1986 batch IAS officer, Ramaswamy, was posted in Mumbai as Joint Development Commissioner which comes under the Ministry of Commerce.

UP cadre back in the reckoning

The last Cabinet Secretary was not from UP cadre. Now with Kamal Pandey as the Cabinet Secretary officers of UP cadre have started reaping a good harvest. Dr Naseem Zaidi (1976 IAS UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Civil Aviation. Ms. Stuti Kacker (1978 IAS UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Small Scale Industries in place of Shankar Agrawal of 1980 batch. Agrawal did not go for NDC course but he would go as CVO of Indian Oil Corporation. Rita Menon 1976 batch IAS officer has joined as Joint Secretary-Defence. Many more UP cadre officers are coming to Delhi shortly.

New Maharashtra CM to continue with old PS

The new Maharashtra Chief Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, is to continue with the same Principal Secretary, Johny Joseph, who was working with his predecessor Vilas Rao Deshmukh. Grapevine has it that V George and Vyler Ravi have asked Shinde to continue with the 1972 batch IAS officer, Johny atleast for the next few months.
