212 IAS officers to retire this year

Altogether 212 IAS officers in the country are superannuating this year. Highest number is from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharastra.

Gupta to return to Rajasthan

Joint Secretary-Mines, in the Government of India, Satya Priya Gupta, is returning to the parent Rajasthan cadre next month after completion of his extended tenure. He is 1975 batch IAS officer.

Poonia is new JS-Labour

D S Poonia has joined as Joint Secretary-Labour in the Government of India. He has been entrusted with the charge of the Social Security, Emigration and Administration. Poonia is 1978 batch IAS officer of the Manipur-Tripura cadre.

Behura not to join Minorities Finance Corporation

Siddharth Behura is not joining the Minorities Finance Corporation in the Government of India. Earlier the name of 1973 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre Behura had been cleared by the ACC for the post.

Rakesh Sahni is PS Home Madhya Pradesh

Rakesh Sahni is the new Principal Secretary Home. He is 1972 batch IAS officer. 1975 batch IAS officer Bhagirath Prasad has been appointed Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare. C P Arora has been made Secretary Transport.

Vivek Dube to return this month

Vivek Dube is returning to the CBI headquarters this month after completion of NDC course.1981 batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre will be posted as Joint Director.

Vinod Dhall gets award

Vinod Dhall, Secretary, Department of Company Affairs, has been decorated with the OISCA Laureate Award presented by OISCA Foundation of India for outstanding public service. He was cited as being among "the ablest bureaucrats of India who were responsible for building the nation despite insurmountable difficulties, negativism, obstruction and corruption". Amongst others who too were awarded on the same day were Ratan Tata - industrialist, Fali Nariman - eminent lawyer and Dr. Pillai, eminent scientist. The awards were given away by Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, B.N. Khare.

Post of CVO to fall vacant

Joint Secretary level post of the CVO in the Engineers India Ltd will fall vacant on January 15. This comes under the Ministry of Petroleum.

Nine IAS officers to return J & K

On the request of the Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister,the Government of India has agreed to repatriate nine IAS officers to the parent cadre. If top sources are to be believed Mssrs Nijamus Saquib (1988),Lokesh Dutta Jha (1986),Bharat Bhushan Vyas (1986),Pradip Kumar Tripathi (1987),S S Kapoor (1974),Sudhanshu Pande (1987),A K Mehta (1988) and Brijraj Sharma (1984) are to be repatriated.
