1971 batch IAS to get posting this month

All the 1971 batch IAS officers who have been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India will get posting this month.

RAW Chief and extension

RAW Chief, Vikram Sood, will get one year extension in service, if all goes well. Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, has been told that A S Sayali and A K Dave too were given extension in the same capacity. Once the proposal is okayed fate of three contenders for the post will automatically eclipse. These officers, all belonging to 1967 batch, are Mssrs Amar Bhaushan, C D Sahay and Jyoti Sinha.

Will Shenoy head NABARD ?

Grapevine has it that Chairman of the Bank of Baroda, P D Shenoy, is now going to head NABARD. One can now wait and watch.

Noor Mohammad to join Election Commission

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer, Noor Mohammad, is joining the Election Commission this month as Joint Secretary. He is 1977 batch IAS officer.

Minister wants Dr Agrawal to head the Ministry !

Union Health Minister, Shatrughna Sinha, wants Director General Health Services, Dr SP Agrawal, as Secretary or the Special Secretary in the Ministry. The Minister is believed to have personally requested the Prime Minister to post Dr Agrawal as either Secretary or the Special Secretary. Will the IAS lobby allow such a move?.

Sharma is Chairman of Manipur Finance Commission

The outgoing Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare in the Government of India S S Sharma has been appointed Chairman of the Second State Finance Commission Manipur. Sharma is retired 1966 batch IAS officer of the Manipur-Tripura cadre.

Sharma and Gore promoted as ACS in Karnataka

1967 batch IAS officer, J P Sharma, and 1968 batch IAS officer, V K K Gore, have been promoted to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary in Karnataka.

As many as nine 1979 batch IFS officers have been promoted Chief Conservator of Forests.Those promoted include A K Jain, Dr Animesh Shukla, Jitendra Agrawal, Ajit Sonkia,K S Reddy, S P Singh, M M Singh Grewal. Krishna Avtar and Ravi Shrivastava.

Dr R Rajgopalan has again been appointed DGP of TamilNadu.1965 batch IPS officer Rajgopalan is to retire in March end.
