Duggal to be Secretary Steel !

Special Secretary Forests and Environment V K Duggal is likely to be appointed next Secretary Steel.He may succeed Jai Singh Gill who is going to Punjab as Chief Secretary.Earlier the name of 1968 batch UT cadre IAS officer Duggal was in circulation for the post of Secretary Civil Aviation. The proposal,however did not materialise.

CPO postings either this week or next week

Top level postings in CPOs are expected to take place in a week or two.New DGs are to be appointed in the CISF,SSW and BPR&D.

Name of 1967 batch 0rissa cadre IPS officer P K Senapati has also started doing the round for the post of DG CISF. Name of 1969 batch J&K cadre IPS officer A K Suri is already in circulation .

At the age of 48,IAS officer and Ph D

Rajiv Sharma (IAS, AP,1981) has achieved an extraordinary accomplishment.At the age of 48 he is proceeding to Carnegie Mellon University for doing PhD in Environmental Engineering with a full scholarship.What is heartening to note is that there is still some IAS camaraderie left even these days and its reach has now enetred the US.Apparently the IAS Old Boys Club played an important role in his selection process.

Dr Anup K Pujari goes to teach at Harvard

Dr Anup K Pujari, (IAS 1980 Karnataka) would be teaching at the John F Kennedy School of Harvard
University, Cambridge Massachusetts, USA for nearly two months.He would be teaching a full course to the
Mid Career MPAs also known as Mason Fellows.He has been doing this since 1991 and has been getting
excellent evaluation from students.He has been an extremely popular teacher there. That is why he is being invited every year. Dr Pujari got his BA (Hons) from Sambalpur University in Orissa and subsequently earned a PhD in Intellectual Property Rights from the Boston University of USA.Many of India's top Civil Servants have been Mason fellows, including the present Cabinet Secretary Kamal Pandey, Fertiliser Secretary Nripendra Mishra, Banking Secretary N S Sisodia, former Cabinet Secretary P K Kaul, Former Chairperson of Nhava Seva Port Trust Mrs.Anna Geroge Malhotra etc. Dr Pujari was Additional Director General of Foreign Trade in the Ministry of Commerce till May 31, 2003 and now back with Government of Karnataka on completion of his Central Deputation.

1976 batch IAS promoted in Madhya Pradesh

Three 1976 batch IAS officers Mssrs Anand Asthana,Hoshiyar Singh and I V Chahal have been promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary in Madhya Pradesh.Asthana will now be PS Commerce and Industries.Hoshiyar Singh goes to Higher Education while I V Chahal will be PS Rural Industries.

Ray to join GoI

B K S Ray is all set to join the Government of India as Additional Secretary soon.He is 1972 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre.

Pillai couple may not join GoI !

Gopal Krishna Pillai and his wife Sudha Pillai who have been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary in Government of India are not going to Delhi in near future. 1972 batch IAS officer Pillai is Principal Secretary to the Kerala Chief Minister and his wife is Principal Secretary Finance in the state.

Dilip Mehra will be Principal Secretary PWD.Snehlata Kumar MD Urja Vikas Nigam has been shifted to Mantralaya as Secretary Scheduled castes and Tribes welfare department. R K Swai will replace Snehlata Kumar in Urja Vikas Nigam.Rakesh Agrawal will now be MD MP Khadi Gramodhyog Board.Prabhakar Bansod on return from central deputation has been posted as Commissioner Handicrafts.Sandeep Saxena a Tamil Nadu cadre officer who is here on deputation has been sent to Gwalior as Additional Commissioner Excise.Komal Singh has been made Director Small Scale Industries.Vidisha Collector Sudha Chaudhry comes to Bhopal as Deputy Secretary School Education.K C Gupta and Arun Kochar will be new Collectors of Sagar and Sidhi respectively.G P Tiwari and Harisingh Shekhawat have been made Collectors of Mandsaur and Vidisha respectively. K S Maran has been made Collector Sheopur.

2001 batch IAS gets posting in UP
