Mohammad Shafi Pandit may not join the Government of India in the rank of Secretary atleast for next couple of months.1969 batch J&K cadre IAS officer Pnadit has been appointed CMD of the Rural Electrification.The J&K Government has decided not to relieve Pandit in view of the visit of the 12th Finance Commission.

Vinod Rai to be AS Petroleum ?

Grapevine has it that Vinod Rai is being appointed Additional Secretary and FA in the Ministry of Petroleum.1972 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer Rai who is currently Joint Secretary Banking,has been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary.

Dr Reddy to be RBI Governor

Finally ED IMF Dr Yaga Venugopal Reddy has been chosen to head the Reserve Bank of India.Formal orders of 1964 batch retired IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre Dr Reddy are expected to be issued in a couple of days.

Will IPS officer contest Lok Sabha polls ?

Sanjay Pande (IPS, 1986, Maharasthra) joined Tata Consultancy Services sometime back. However he tried to be the routine IPS Officer inside a private sector company, ordering people around and refusing to work harmoniuosly even with another retired senior IPS Officer RK Raghavan , former Director, CBI who is now
their advisor. Now he has sudeenly quit TCS to start his own company and plans to contest the Lok Sabha elections!

Four persons from one family in the IAS

Talking about sisters, one may mention three sisters from one family in the IAS, as well their only brother, making it four siblings in the IAS. They are Dr Renuka Viswanathan (1971 Karnataka),Mrs.Urmila Subba Rao (1972 AP),Mrs. Vatsala Vatsa (1973 Karnataka) and T R Raghunandan (1983 Karnataka). Except Mrs . Vatsa, the rest three have (or had) their spouses also in Civil Services, they are Dr R Viswanathan (IPS 1966 Karnataka), Dr Subba Rao (IAS 1972 AP) and Mrs.Aditi Raja (IA&AS 1982). So the total contribution to Civil Service is of SEVEN from one family.Their father was however not a Civil Servant. he was a High Court Judge.

Johny Joseph to join GoI

Principal Secretary to the Maharastra Chief Minister,Johny Joseph is all set to join the Government of India as Additional Secretary. He is 1972 batch IAS officer.

Sudhir Rajpal is back

1990 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer Sudhir Rajpal is back from his one year foreign training. He is now awaiting a posting in the Government of India.

Prasad to get DG rank in UP

P S Vara Prasad is returning to the parent UP cadre cutting short his central deputation tenure. 1967 batch IPS officer who is Additional Director in the National Police Academy will get DG rank in UP.

Bureaucracy, with all its faults, is in place in most countries of the world other than the dictatorships and it is up to these countries to make the best of it.
