Altogether 36 IAS officers belonging to 1972 batch have been reportedly empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary in Government of India.Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is expected to clear the file of empanelment this week. Marwaha's tenure ends in the days to come. Marwaha who's integrity is beyond any doubts and reputed
to be an upright officer has already been facing unharmonious music from Advisor, Virendra Singh for the last couple of months. Point is ....has the Advisor, the Administrator and the remaining higher authorities of the Chandigarh Administartion ever wondered what harm it would do to the morale of the serving IAS officers of the administration.Moreso,should a prestigious post of Chairman,Chandigarh Housing Board be simply snatched from deserving IAS officers of the UT cadre and gifted over to a non IAS officers who enjoys a strong political clout and network with the Advisor, the Administrator and other higher officials.It is also learnt that non IAS Puranjeet Singh claims quite boisterously amidst senior IAS officers of his link up with the Advisor, Administrator and senior congress leader Buta Singh. How else would he muster the courage to announce openly that he would be the next chairman Chandigarh Housing Board, a post which is primarily a very important and crucial for all UT cadre officers? Should UT cadre officers surrender this post so easily or would better sense prevail at the end of the day amongst the senior strata of the Chandigarh Administration?
