Altogether 11 IPS officers are retiring this month month.They are Mssrs D D Tuteja (Gujarat),B N Nagraj (Karnataka),S Miniyodan and T M Somrajan (Kerala),S C Malhotra (Maharastra), D K Mohapatra and Mohammad Z Ahmad (Orissa), A K Bhandari and J K Soni (Rajasthan),P Pandian (TamilNadu) and K Krishna Bansal (Uttar Pradesh).

IAS officer injured in West Bengal

The District Magistrate of Nadia, KK Pal, IAS 1991 (SCS), met with a road accident when his car overturned while he was following the CM's convoy passing through his district. He, his driver and bodyguard were rescued by a BSF patrol and admitted to hospital, where they are out of danger.

Revolt against Railway Minister

Three members of the Railway Board have revolted against the railway minister, Nitish Kumar, over his decision to recommend the name of RK Singh, GM (Northern Railways), for the post of Board chairman superseding several senior members.The three members have also registered their protests with the Cabinet secretariat and threatened to quit rather than serve under a "junior officer",
