Delay in 1969 batch' empanelment amazing

The bureaucratic circle is surprised at the inordinate delay in the empanelment of 1969 batch IAS to the rank of Secretary. This they say is amazing, more, because both the PMO and the Deputy PMO have officers of this batch in powerful positions. While in the PMO it is Pradipto Ghosh, in the Dy. PMO, Ajay Prasad is the batch mate.

13 IAS officers to retire this month

All over the country thirteen IAS officers are retiring this month. They are
Mssrs Sathi Nair, Noni Gopal Barooah, N R Varsani, M N Patel, M S Jamwal, S Kunjbihari Singh, Niranjan Padhi, Karl Reddy, Banwari Lal Meharda, Jor Singh Siyen, G Ganesh, Lal Bahadur Tiwari and Hari Ram.

Deepak Dasgupta is the new Chairman of the River Linking Authority. He is retired 1966 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre. Dasgupta was Chairman of the National Highway Authority prior to his retirement.

MP IAS Association refuses to intervene

Political uproar over the EC's directives for the suspension of three District Collectors notwithstanding, the MP IAS Association is believed to have refused to come to the rescue of the victims. The District Collectors in question have been held responsible for the irregularities in the voter's lists. But the IAS Association is in no mood to interfere in such matters related to the EC.

Arvind Kaul to be Chief Secretary Himachal Pradesh !

If all goes well Arvind Kaul will be new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh. He is 1968 batch IAS officer.

In a major reshuffle of IAS officers D Srinivasulu was appointed Vice Chairman and MD of Vizag Urban Development Authority. Other new postings are :- Mssrs K Umamalleswara Rao MD Dairy Development Corporation, Debabrata Kanta Commissioner Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Shafiquzzaman Commissioner Shore Area Development Authority, Adhar Sinha Secretary AP Public Service Commission, K Ramgopal Special Officer Urban Land Ceiling, S K Sinha Commissioner Sericulture, I Venkateswarlu MD Warehousing Corporation and B Kishore Joint Collector Warangal. Two IAS officers S G K Kishore and B V Prasad Reddy are yet to get posting.

1986 batch IAS officer Balram Sharma and 1989 batch IAS officer Subhash Chand Ahluwalia have joined the personall staff of the new Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh in Himachal Pradesh.
