IAS lobby is furious

Following the unexpected elevation of Vinayak Ghatate (s/o NM Ghatate, BJP) to World Bank to a position traditionally reserved for IAS officers, next is the turn of the VHP to claim its pound of flesh. Ankur Agrawal, an Indian Customs and Excise Service officer, currently completing MBA at Harvard, is lobbying hard to get a position at the International Finance Corporation/ World Bank in Washington DC. He happens to be the nephew of VHP Supremo, Ashok Singhal, whose name is being used for the same. The IAS lobby is reportedly furious at the development and efforts are underway to deny him further extension of leave.

Biswas to superannuate

Secretary Urban Employment and Poverty Allievation in the Government of India, D K Biswas, is superannuating this month end. He is 1967 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre.

Shrinivas joins NIRD

K Shrinivas has joined the National Institute of Rural Development as a Deputy Director. He is 1989 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.

Dr Anup Chandra Pandey, PS to former Union Minister, Uma Bharti, has joined the Health Ministry as Director. He is 1984 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Chug is Dy Secretary Forests and Environment

C L Chug has joined the Union Environment and Forest Ministry as Deputy Secretary. He is an officer of Central Secretariat Service.
