Grapevine has it that the post of Secretary-Banking, in the Government of India, is being down-graded. A proposal is already on the cards.

Mrs Padma Balasubramaniam has taken over as the first lady Secretary of the Department of Posts. She is 1967 batch officer of the Indian Postal Service.She has superceeded two of her colleagues Vijay Bhushan and Natarajamurthi.She has succeeded S C Dutta who superannuated last week.

Tenure of Sudhakar to expire

Tenure of Joint Secretary-Agriculture, in the Government of India, Pramod Deepak Sudhakarm, is coming to an end this week. He is 1976 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Two CBDT Members to retire this year

Two CBDT members, Pradip Saxena and G Saran, will superannuate this year. Both are 1966 batch IRS officers.

Empanelment of 1982 batch IPS

C V Narasaiah will be DIG Eluru. Punna Rao has been made Director Prohibition and Excise.Anjana Sinha will be new DCP West Zone Hyderabad. Anil Kumar and K Laxshaman Mohan will be SPs of Anantpur and Krishna respectively. Sandip Shandilya has been appointed DCP Traffic. Kripanand Tripathi has been posted as DCP Law and Order Cyberabad. Bhavna Saxena will be SP West Godavari. Vishvajeet and B Sanjeeva Rao will be Commandants of IInd battalion and Ist battalion respectively. Charu Sinha has been made SP of Prakasom .

IAS changes in TamilNadu

K Raja Ram will be new Collector of Tuticorin. K Venkatesan has been appointed Collector Kanchipuram.

Kumaraswamy and Govind promoted in TN

1968 batch IPS officer S Kumaraswamy and 1969 batch IPS officer I K Govind have been promoted to the rank of DG in TamilNadu. While Kumaraswamy will be DG and CVO of State Transport Corporation Govind will be CMD of Police Housing Corporation Chennai. Meanwhile, Mrs G Thilakavathi and G Nanchil Kumaran have been made ADG Women Police and ADG Vigilance Chennai respectively. Both are 1976 batch IPS officers.

1989 batch IPS promoted in TamilNadu

All the five 1989 batch IPS officers have been promoted to the rank of DIG in TamilNadu. P Kandasamy and Kanhu Charan Mahali will be DIGs of Madurai and Vellore range respectively. Pramod Kumar will be DIG Crime Branch CID (SIT).Mohammad Shakeel Akhtar and Braj Kishore Ravi are yet to get postings.Some other DIG level changes have also been made. Mithilesh Kumar Jha will now be JCP Central Zone Chennai.Sangram Jangid and S G Rajendran will be DIGs of Thanjavur and Chengalapet respectively.M V N Surya Prasad will be DIG Technical Services Chennai.

A Pari , A G Pon Manickvel and K Shankar will be new SPs of Nilgiris,Salem and Chengalapatty districts respectively.S Bhaskaran has been made SP Enforcement. A Ashokan has been shifted to Coimbatore as DCP Law and Order. G Sendrayaperumal will be SP Civil Supplies CID Chennai. R Kathiresan has been made DCP Crime and Traffic Madurai. G Kartikeyan has been appointed DC Kilauk Chennai. Sandip Rai Rathore has been made SP Crime Branch Chennai.T P Sundaramurthy ,Anand Kumar Somani and P Bala Subramaniam have been appointed SPs of Nagarapattinam, Thanjavur and Erode districts respectively. Shailesh Kumar Yadav will now be SP Video-Piracy cell Chennai. S S Krishnamurthi has been shifted to Central Crime Branch Chennai as DCP. M Jesurathinam will be SP CCIN CID Chennai.
