D T Joseph will be new Secretary Shipping. 1968 batch Maharastra cadre IAS officer Joseph is currently Secretary Coordination and Public Grievance in the Cabinet Secretariat. He will succeed another Maharastra cadre 1966 batch IAS officer M P Pinto who is superannuating this month end.

C S Rao is new Chairman IRDA

Finally, Secretary Revenue C S Rao has been appointed Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority(IRDA).1967 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre Rao would take over from N Rangachary on June 10. Tenure of Rangachary is coming to an end on June 9. Delay in the official announcement had started rumours that the Gingee Ramachandran affair had changed the situation. Now Rao would hold office till the attainment of 65 years of age.

V S Laxmi Ratan will be new Secretary Parliamentary Affairs. 1967 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer Laxmi Ratan will succeed Haryana cadre 1966 batch IAS officer Lalit Mohan Goyal who is retiring by this month end. Presently Laxmi Ratan is posted in the Planning Commission.
