Finance Minister Jaswant Singh is believed to have decided to create a new team of bureaucrats at the highest level of Secretaries and Joint Secretaries within two months. One has to wait and watch.

Additional Secretary Law and Justice Surendra Nath is the new Member- Secretary National Commission on Population. He is 1968 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.The post had fallen vacant following the superannuation of 1966 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer Mrs Krishna Singh.

Two new Deputy CAG

P K Brahma and Sudha Rajgopalan IA &AS have joined as Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General. Both posts are equivalent to the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.
