Here's an interesting turn to the spat between Punjab CM and DGP A.A.Siddiqui!!Rumour mill has it that Chief Minister Amarinder Singh introduced ADGP/Intelligence, S.S.Virk as a smart, honest , intelligent and efficient officer to Congress Supremo Mrs Sonia Gandhi. Grapevine also has it that Amarinder Singh introduced Virk as a "Possible Replacement of the Controversial present DGP.And here, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has been making it loud and clear to all quartets of the media that DGP Siddiqui would not be replaced and complete his full tenure. So whom does Amarinder Singh fancy as the real DGP? Virk or Siddiqui???Anyone's guess could be as good as someone else's!!! Only the mighty Maharaja of Patiala has the true answer to that. However, rumour mill worked over time yesterday in the high circles of Punjab Police, that the same S.S.Virk, whom Amarinder Singh rumoured to have introduced as an honest and efficient officer, when posted in Pune had been the eye of a storm over the missing of cash confiscated by the police during a raid on gambling dens. According to the rumour wave, he was suspended for the same and only timely intervention by Arun Nehru saw him posted in Punjab as a SSP. This happened around 25 years back and ever since 1970 batch IPS officer of Maharastra cadre Virk has been grounded in Punjab
