BPL is more important than BBC in Punjab So what does a senior bureaucrat do when confronted by top line media over alleged hanky panky affairs taking place right under his/her nose?? Simple!!! Ignore the investigative media and instruct the personal staff to question the integrity of the correspondent / press reporter itself!!Grapevine has it that when a BBC Correspondent, reporting directly to the BBC Five Live London Bureau and the BBC Scotland Bureau, counter questioned senior Punjab bureaucrat , Mrs Anjali Bhawra over "Extra Ordinary Grace" being showered upon BPL and BPL Products when it came to the purchase of medical equipments for a crucial World Bank project, to be executed by Punjab Health System Corporation, headed by Mrs Anjali Bhawra, despite BPL not satisfying any of the technical criteria laid down by the authorities , the senior IAS ensured that she remained unreachable over phone for her comments on the issue. However, the final class act was allegedly performed by the personal staff of Mrs Anjali Bhawra, Punjabcadre IAS officer, who curtly told the BBC Correspondent who was investigating the issue that " they knew that the BBC Correspondent who called up was infact a "phoney freelancer" and they along with Madam knew who the real BBC Five Live / BBC Scotland Correspondent was!!" What a novel way of keeping the investigative media at bay!!Wonder whether Mrs Anjali Bhawra and PHSC will arrange for a meeting of their "Candidate BBC Correspondent" and the BBC correspondent investigating the case?? |
