If rumour mill is to be believed then after the turn of DGP Haryana, M S Malik, it is time for ADGP Intelligence, Punjab, S S Virk to salvage his position.Grapevine has it that on his recent visit to Punjab, former Home Secretary, Government of India and presently Member, Election Commission, N Gopalaswamy had on his mind the pending issue of the repatriation of Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence Wing - Punjab, Mr S S Virk, a 1970 Maharashtra Cadre IPS officer.Grapevine also has it that the present Member, Election Commission, N Gopalaswami , when he was the Home Secretary,Government of India, had put his foot down on repatriating Virk back to Maharashtra but again Virk had sheer good luck and time on his side. MHA had repeatedly written to the Govt of Punjab both during P S Badal's regime and also during Amarinder Singh's regime to repatriate Virk to Maharashtra and relieve him from Punjab.
