Why sudden return of IPS officer ?

The sudden return of 1987 batch IPS officer of Punjab Cadre, C Sita Rami Reddy back to India has spawned a wave of speculation among the senior IPS officers of Punjab. Reddy who is currently on a two year study leave, was pursuing higher education abroad. He suddenly returned to India lately. Why this sudden return ?.
