Taking strict note of the Punjab government's move to post Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers as district SSPs, the Government of India had asked the state government to "dispense with" the postings. In his letter (DO No 1-45030/3/2004) AK Jain, joint secretary (police) in the ministry of home affairs, had asked the chief secretary Punjab to replace eight Punjab Police Service Officers (PPS), holding the posts of district police chiefs, with IPS officers. As the appointment of PPS officers to the posts of district police chiefs was against the IPS cadre rules, so the irregularity was required to be removed immediately, wrote the joint secretary. But instead of removing the irregularities, in a major reshuffle of senior police officers , the state government appointed three more PPS officers as SSPs.

ONGC, the company that is recognized for creating maximum wealth among all Indian corporates gets its name sullied, the investors faith is rocked while the government saves pennies by selecting the lowest bidder, MCS, in this case.
