Dr K C Chakraborty, Bank of Baroda General Manager, has been appointed Executive Director of the Punjab National Bank.

H A Daruwalla will be new Executive Director of the Oriental Bank of Commerce. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has cleared his appointment. He is currently General Manager of the Union Bank of India.

Dhananjoy's parents will relive the death of their son everyday for the rest of their lives…..just as Hetul's parents have been reliving the death of their daughter every day of their lives…..and will continue do so!!!!! The case now stands avenged by the State…..but the bigger question will now take centre stage……. Should Capital punishment be continued or abolished????

Another salient point thrown up is that can the Media glare and the opinion polls affect Justice????? In this case the plight of Dhananjoy's parents and their pleas and opinion polls in favour of Dhannajoy's hanging……why queer the pitch???? And then the hangman who lamented the Stay on Hanging (if you can get a re-look at the Media coverage after the hanging was stayed by the President)!!!! Media too has to realize …a story is not just a story…..….justice is at stake… …report but do not let the reporting be opinionated!!!

Post the hanging now the Media is airing interviews with Nata the hangman. Sometimes not being able to afford a TV can prove to be a boon!!! At least Dhananjoy's parents do not have to listen to Nata recount their son's hanging. At the same time imagine the pain Hetul's parents would have gone through as Channel after Channel day and night recounted their dreadful day (when Hetul was raped and killed)!!!!!

Manmohan Singh has shot off letters to Ministers in his Cabinet……the subject PSUs…….he has asked them to be PSU….Please Stay Upright…….. and he has asked his Ministers not to PSU…… Pilfer, Siphon or Use….the PSUs.

The Government has prepared a list of the pending Projects….out of the pending 294 projects worth Rs 2,43,000 crore, the railways has 115 pending projects, while 45 power ventures are pending. Laloo wants the Railway Projects to be implemented…..pronto…..Laloo says….. Projects delayed is development waylaid … Indians should be worried about the hurry now being demanded by Laloo….Projects hurried means propriety and probity buried!!!!

Kushwant Singh in his weekend column says that Natwar Singh is suffering from constipation on account self esteem……may I add that Natwar also has a 'weak bladder' type mouth….words just leak out ……and please do not forget that his foot homes into his mouth every now and then….statements made by Natwar during this abduction incident justify him being called Nutwar!!! Would the good Doctor take cognisance of Natwar's medical condition and let him go….bench him!!!

The Freedom of Information Bill is on the NAC Chairman's table…..definitions have been rewritten time and again!!!! Only thing she has to keep in mind ….Democracy like Freedom does not come in 'convenient to the State packages'!!!!! Hope she does not decide on this matter wearing her Alaa Command Cap???? Because in Congress Freedom of Information is a privileged matter!!!

Pranab Da should either take a couple of tranquillisers before giving an interview or should avoid giving interviews. On Karan Thapar's show, Hard Talk, he gave Karan a hard time because Karan quizzed him with some hard facts!!! Karan should make suitable arrangements so that his Interviewees are in the right frame of mind and all jangled nerves are placated….a tot or two before the interview for the interviewees should do the job….Hard Drinks prior to Hard Talk……..ta ki jor ka jhatka dheere se laghe!!

Renuka Chowdhury blames Indian men for discouraging Tourism in India??? Sanity seems to have taken leave of the Lady!!!! Seems the gun incident has taken a toll…..after the singeing because of her Gun recommendation …. she has started hating herself…..and as she considers herself more man than woman…...hence, she has started hating men…….and so this comment about Indian men!!!!

The Opening Ceremony at the Athens Olympics was good…sometimes raunchy…..but a spectacle none the less!!!! But, what really astounded me that Countries with a fraction of our population sent teams 7-8 times the strength of our Team!!! An increased medal tally could kick-start Sports in India. Milkha Singh however would say it is a question of spending Rs. 1000 crores…of course he should be at the helm of affairs…….Project Report is ready!!!!!
