Who is powerful PMO or the Minister ?

Minister is keen to have an officer of his choice in the Ministry of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals but PMO is keen to go by merit. Minister Ram Vilas Paswan first wanted Karnataka cadre IAS officer R N Shastri as Joint Secretary. When the PMO turned down the proposal, the Minister has now forwarded the name of a CSS officer K S Malik for the post. The PMO is not inclined to accept CSS officer either. One can only wait and watch for the outcome of this tusscle between the Minister and the PMO.

Three secretary posts go to IFS

As many as three posts of the secretary level have been given to the officials of the Indian forest service (IFS) by the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. The state government while promoting seven IFS officers of 1980 batch has appointed three of them as secretaries. They include AS Ahalawat - Director Rural Employment, Dharmendra Shukla - member secretary, MP Pollution Control Board and rattan Purwar - Managing Director, MP Seed and Farm Development Corporation.

The Consultative Committee meeting was held at 7 Race Course…..they've decided to meet once a month and additionally on a need to meet basis. Surjeet in all earnestness took off his goggles …..he wanted Manmohan and Sonia to see the earnestness in his eyes. Sonia and Manmohan had their own worries......they were keeping their fingers crossed…..hoping that Surjeet would not drag Amar Singh along with him. They heaved a sigh of relief when the Security informed them that Surjeet had come in his Ambassador without Amar Singh.

Bardhan seems to have a yen for bottled water…...the man polished off the bottle after bottle. Yechury was high on caffeine….six cups of coffee. This meeting was more like…they came , they drank and used the loo!!!!

The Metropolitan Court of Hyderabad had issued a non-bailable warrant against Union Shipping Minister and TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao in a cheating case yesterday….one more added to the tainted list. With the taint spreading the shuffle has been stalled!!!! Dhawan, Sharma, Fotedar and Kidwai are on tenterhooks!!! They are in a predicament…..when reports come out that the shuffle is going to take place they start their Ministerial airs…..and then when it does not happen they have to deflate their egos…….tubeless egos are on the anvil!!!!

Satish Sharma is really itching to become the Petroleum Minister!!!! Honchos of GAIL and ONGC however are not too happy at this prospect!!!! After the exit of their Bengali mentor, both of them are now trying to warm up to another Bengali Power Center…the Commies.

However, Renuka Chowdhury is not looking forward to the shuffle!!! Manmohan is not too happy with her , remember her letter recommending a certain gun, and would like to drop her!!! She did try to 'power point' her way back to his favour…..she made a Power Point presentation of the Tourism Ministry……however Manmohan seems to be unimpressed. Renuka is now planning to do a 'power point' presentation for Sonia on her histrionics in the run up to Sonia's failed PM attempt…. 'Madam I even cried' …..will Sonia recognize her crocodile tears????
