Grapevine has it that newly appointed Secretary Textiles R M Prem Kumar is going to Maharashtra as Chief Secretary. He is 1968 batch IAS officer.

Hota is new Secretary Health

P.K. Hota, IAS (OR:69), presently Secretary, Department of Family Welfare will also be Secretary, Department of Health in place of J.V.R. Prasada Rao who retired today.

How come the new government is not thinking about the demoralisation of the bureacracy by forcing IAS officers to accept pay cuts, if they want to come to GoI during their 16th to 20th years of service? Further, once the batches get empanelled, why are the officers not placed immediately and made to hang around as directors on forced pay cuts?
