Name of Justice Ansari cleared ?

The name of Justice Ansari from Hyderabad High Court is believed to have been cleared for elevation to the Supreme Court of India. He reportedly by-passes Justice Altamash Kabir from Calcutta, Aftab Alam from Patna HC and Ghoolam Vahanvati the Solicitor General. Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Altamash Kabir are both senior to Justice Ansari. Rumours have it that if Altamash, Aftab or Vahanvati are appointed as Supreme Court judges they will go on to become Chief Justice of the SC because
of their age and Justice Ansari will not because he has very few years to retire.

Durga Shankar Mishra will be the new Joint Secretary (Foreigners) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is 1984 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. Earlier his name was in circulation for the post of Joint Secretary (Police).

Name of Deepak Mohan Spolia has started doing the round for the post of Financial Commissioner, Employees State Insurance Corporation. He is 1979 batch IAS officer of UT cadre.

I think small states and small UT does not need DGP or ADGP or IG rank officers. states like Goa and Arunachal or Mizoram can be well run by a DIG or SSP. even Chandigarh deserves to be headed by an SP or SSP. all the senior officers of UTcadre need to be posted to head and run and aassist the Delhi Police which needs the services of experienced and efficient officers and their professional expertise and acumen should not be wasted where there is no work.
