1970 batch secretary level postings complete

Posting of all the empanelled 1970 batch IAS officers for the post of secretary in the Government of India is now complete. Only a couple of officers of this batch empanelled during the review are yet to get posting. These too are expected to be over shortly.

Meeting remains inconclusive

Meeting called for the empanelment of 1971 batch IAS to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India, though continued for over four hours, remained inconclusive, it is learnt.
Only the bigwigs would be knowing better what the hiccups were.

PM's directives : who cares ?

Despite the clear cut directives of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that there would be no extensions in service, the powerful lobby behind the power secretary R V Shahi seems to be unconcerned. It is still trying tooth and nail for his extension. And this inspite of the fact that 10 janpath is also said to be opposed to this extension.

CSS officer Rang Nath is being tipped to be Secretary, Minority Commission, in the Government of India.

Will Parul Debi Das go ?

Grapevine has it that Joint Secretary, Child and Women Welfare, in the Government of India, Ms Parul Debi Das, is being moved out of the Ministry . She is 1975 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

Now Three more Jt. Secretary level posts

Three new posts of Joint Secretaries have now been created in the Government of India. These are in the departments viz. Home, Defence and Panchayati Raj.

Coal Minister and Secretary at loggerheads !

The Union Coal Minister Shibhu Soren and his Secretary P C Parakh are said to be at loggerheads. They do not see eye to eye with the result that the minister wants him out at any cost. Will this happen ?

The former Director-General, CRPF, S M Ghosh, has passed away at his Patna residence last week. He was a 1943 batch IPS officer of Bihar Cadre.

Four ISS officers promoted

After a long wait for over six months, four ISS officers have been promoted to the SAG level. They include Partha Chattopadhyay - posted as DDG, CSO; Madhubala - Adviser in the Ministry of Agriculture and Dr P D Joshi & N V Tolani as DDGs of NSSO(DPD) & SDRD respectively.

Tsunami struck India after three hours and early warning could have saved people from harm.

Well all I can say is that he knows best.
