D Swaroop not getting extension

It is now almost certain that Secretary-Expenditure, D Swaroop, will retire on December 31.Earlier there were strong reports that in view of the ensuing budget Swaroop will get three months extension.Now the charge of budget will go back to the Secretary- Economic Affairs.

Is Power more important than Budget ?

With the Secretary Budget, D Swaroop, all set to retire on December 31, the question that is being asked in the bureaucratic circles is - Whether Power is more important than budget? Reason; Swaroop was expected to get three months extension in view of the ensuing budget but he has been denied the same. On the other hand one year extension is being granted to the Power Secretary R V Shahi.

Menon to leave Finance Ministry !

Joint Secretary (Budget) in the Ministry of Finance K S Menon is leaving the North-Block next month .He is being promoted as Additional CAG. Earlier there were reports that Menon is going to stay till the next budget.

Who will be JS (Budget) ?

Who will succeed K S Menon, Joint Secretary (Budget), in the Ministry of Finance? Grapevine has it that the new JS Budget will be a lady IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

And believe it or not, the result of the pressure is that the release of orders of 1971 batch IRS officers, as Chief Commissioners of Income-Tax, are further delayed.

Promotion orders expected this week !

The promotion orders of 1971 batch IRS officers are pending since July 2004 when the DPC was held. Subsequently, the file has been tossed many times between the MOS(Finance) and the Finance Minister. It is widely believed that orders of over one dozen officers of this batch are expected to be issued on the return of Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday.

Cadre of 1998 batch IAS officer Munish Moudgil has been changed from Orissa to Karnataka. Wife of Moudgil is reportedly an IPS officer in Karnataka.

I feel we should not celebrate,
Seeing the deaths, suffering and pain….mind is not in a happy state.

Heart breaking to see people moan the loss of their kids……makes your heart cry,
You tend to look up and ask Him, "Why???"

So this year donate the expenses you would incur for the New Years to the victims of this calamity,
God will bless you for this charity.

Now let there be a tsunami of sympathy and help to the effected,
Do not let the effected feel rejected and dejected.

This is usually the Happy Time every year….now heart looks at this time with disdain,
But remember happiness can be found in helping others and feeling their pain.

In TOI the Dubiyaman cartoon is indeed in bad taste,
Nothing humorous about seeing humanity going to waste!!!

What depravity…..hope the fools realize their folly???
Simply not done….using such a calamity to try to make people jolly.

Should VIPs go to the affected areas…..I feel they should go there???

After all if they sit in their plush Offices twiddling their thumbs,
All that will reach the effected will be like crumbs.

Their visiting will make the Administration and NGOs pull of their socks,
Only 8 paisa of every Rupee aid reaches the effected ….people make these mocks.
