Navin Kumar has taken over as new Director General of Doordarshan. He is 1975 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.Prior to this he was Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

Maharashtra Chief Secretary A M Nimbalkar has been granted three months extension in service. He was scheduled to retire on February 29.
