Why was 1980 batch IAS officer Dr Anup Pujari shifted from the post of Managing Director Mysore Sugar Factory ? There are three possible reasons being discussed in the corridors of power.One is to shunt out Arvind Risbud who was earlier PS to Anantha Kumar in Urban Development Ministry at Delhi.Second is to let the private sugar factory (SC Malliah Sugar Factory, set up in the name of CM, S M Krishna's father, and of which CM's brother S M Shankar is the chairman).And the third is to show that GoodEconomics does not make Good Politics. Dr Pujari was strict and was taking a few cost cutting measures to ensure that future profitability does not suffer. This was unacceptable in Election Time, as Mandya, where the sugar factory is located is in the home district of the CM.
