PM clears ADB appointment of Saikia

Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has cleared the file of the appointment of Ashok Saikia as ED of the Asian Development Bank. A proposal to this effect had been moved by Finance Minister Jaswant Singh. Low profile 1971 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer Saikia is currently Additional Secretary in the PMO.Tenure of ED ,ADB Piyush Mankad is coming to an end in July.
