Ever since the newly appointed ADGP Vigilance, Mohd Izhar Alam moved into his new residence,House Number 59, Sector 7, Chandigarh, an uncanny silence has dawned in the posh locality where he has moved into. Grapevine has it that the same lane also hosts the residence of senior bureaucrats from Punjab and Haryana and also that of ADC to the Governor Punjab and many more. However, the battery of around 10 huge government vehicles like Gypsy, Qualis, Ambassadors and Sumo, placed at the disposal of Mohd Izhar Alam have almost blocked the entrance of narrow lane that hosts all these top bureaucrats. Now grapevine has it that though most of the top shot officers of Punjab, who are neighbours of the ADGP Vigilance, are very much peeved at this phenomenon but are preferring to maintain a discreet silence over it.Is it because of respect or because of a trepidation that the Vigilance Bureau carries around it?
