Does Pirzada's arrest have any hiddemessage ?

Punjab Vigilance arrested 1982 batch Tamil Nadu Cadre IAS officer, Gurnihal Singh Pir Zada for alleged irregularities during his posting on deputation to the Government of Punjab. Interestingly, Pirzada enjoyed key postings during the Akali rule and was rumoured to be "extremely close" to Akali think tank, Surjit Singh Barnala. At one point of time it was believed , if Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal would have taken over as the new Chief Minister then Mr Pir Zada would have probably been her P S to CM. This is perhaps what irked Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal,the Deputy Chief Minister, Meanwhile, a large section of the Punjab Bureaucracy echoed a strong whisper yesterday that Gurnihal Singh Pirzada's arrest has far more reaching consequences for the bureaucrats of the state than the state itself.
