Raise the age

Honorable Sir, I would deem it a great favour, if you ,kindly endorse the following statements, reflecting the plights, of Indian youth.Implementation of these ideas will cetainly empower our democratic set-up by opening the opportunity of joining the Govt. in a rational manner and ensure transparency in our governance. 1. As the job opportunities in the Govt. Sector are being chased by so many seekers the present limit on age and chances is creating a lot of hardship for hapless youth community. 2. There is an imperative need for raising the age and chance limit. Enhancement of age and chance limit, will definitely help the late blossomers and those persons, who are in non governmental sectors , or are in the lower echelons of Govt. hierarchy , but harbour wishes to improve their career prospects by merit. 3. It will ensure , the, right to equality , the essence of the true democracy. When on one hand, talks are going on to introduce the scheme of the lateral entry in superior services which is just another form of much maligned patronage system also known as the spoils system ), then there is no justification in debarring those persons who have been preparing assiduously, but missed the entry, marginally, or are working in other sectors.Certainly it would make higher Govt. services more sensitive and experienced of the down to earth nitty-gritty of the problem of the masses. 4. It would impart a sense of positive direction and opportunities to the youth, who are in deep unrest and demoralised state owing to dwindling public job opportunities , and for the want of suitable and ample opportunites ,are prone to get allured by the subversive elements for their nefarious activities . 5. Various State Public Services Commissions have already schemes of higher age limits and chance limits . Hence in the true spirit of federalism, and in order to bring uniformity, all over the nation, the relaxation in chance and age restrictions for UPSC, SSC and other Central Services Recruitment Exams. is quite imperative. It is time a systemic correction is brought in place, so that aspiring youth must be ensured a clean scope of entry in government services. It is only because of scarce opprtunities , a conducive and enabling ambience for various recruitment scams to take place. With relaxed entry elligiblities, the designs of the recruitment scamsters will have no market.
6. As a precedence, the upper age limit for the candidates for UPSC- Civil Services Examination 1991, was raised to 33 yrs with usual relaxation for reserved categories. 7. The much oft repeated allibi for lowering the age and chance limits for increasing the efficiency in the governance is just a hypocrisy and have no rational basis. When a majority of Indian youth harbour the dream of serving the nation through the government service, then denying the opportunity is nothing short of criminal neglect of their inspiration. Even USA, the most adorable free market economy, has very liberal entry criterion, and plenty of public job opportunities. Even Our Management Institutes have no restriction on Chance and Age Limits. Then pursuing with such retictions in our public services is a vested interest to create a state of despair,to be exploited by crooked elements. Hence , in the present dismal scenario, being faced by Indian youths, a raise of 10 yrs and 10 chances is highly solicited for, and certainly with the introduction of this Scheme, our nation will usher in ,to a great era of hope and tranquility, and of course a Knowledge society wiil be paved in. It is hoped, that, by providing these opportunities to the Indian youth, the Govt. of India, would be granting the ever greatest new year gift to them. It must be introduced with the just declared Civil Services Examination 2004 notification. Thanking all the powers that be viz. President,Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha,All the Ministers, Chief Justice of India and other Supreme Court Judges,MPs,Governors and Chief Ministers of all the States, Chairman and Members of UPSC, Cabinet Secetary and Secretaries to the Govt. of India and Other High Officials, Leaders of all the Politcal Parties ,and everyone intersted in ensuring a sensitive, efficient and morally sound governance system,in anticipation. Yours faithfully, BIBEK KUMAR ANAND, TILKAMANJHI, JAWARIPUR,BHAGALPUR, BIHAR, INDIA PIN-812001 anand_bibek10@rediffmail.com & anand_bibek10@indiatimes.com
