Empanelment of 1984 batch IAS this month

Names of altogether 55 IAS officers belonging to 1984 batch have been approved for the empanelment to the rank of Join Secretary in Government of India.Empanelment file is expected to be cleared by the Prime Minister in a couple of weeks.

Why step motherly treatment to IFS officers ?

In spite of the opposition from the serving officers to take up the newly introduced mid-term training in its present format for the Indian Foreign Service officers at the level of Directors/Deputy Secretaries,the MEA is going ahead. It is going to further burden the already overloaded junior officers for a period of 6 months who incidentally do not even have the basic support staff like their counterparts in other Ministeries. More appropriately, it should have been a residential course for a couple of weeks as done for other services. The additional string attached is the likely linkage with future promotions though it was earlier shot down by DOPT. Why such step motherly treatment to IFS officers ?.

IFS officer is still in custody

The kidnapped IFS officer D.Sathyan is still in custody(14th Day Running).The kidnappers are asking 15 lakhs ransom. But the Meghalaya Government has not taken any initiative till now.
