PM clears 1984 batch empanelment file

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is believed to have cleared the empanelment file of the 1984 batch IAS officers to the rank of Joint Secretary in the Government of India. A total number of 55 officers of this batch figure in the list.

Ranjana Chaudhry to be JS Steel !

Ranjana Chaudhry is likely to be appointed as the Joint Secretary, Steel, in the Government of India. The 1974 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer, Ms Chaudhry, is number one in the panel prepared for the post.

Komal Anand and Taori empanelled

Two 1968 batch IAS officers Ms Komal Anand (Haryana) and Kamal Taori (Uttaranchal) are reported to have been empanelled during the review meeting to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India.

Will Pegu be DDG KAPART ?

Gopinath Pegu is being tipped to be the next DDG KAPART which comes under the Ministry of Rural Development. He is 1975 batch IAS officer of Orissa cadre.

Ashok Saikia joins as ED ADB

Ashok Saikia has joined as an Executive Director of the Asian Development Bank (India) at Manila. 1971 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer Saikia has succeeded Piyush Mankad who is back to Delhi. Saikia had been most powerful functionary in the PMO during Atal Behari Vajpayee's regime.

Satyanarayana is DG MANAGE

K V Satyanarayana, 1982 batch IAS officer of Manipur- Tripura cadre is all set to join as Director General (Joint Secretary cadre posting), MANAGE, at Hyderabad. He will take up the assignment in the first week of August.

P Abraham, former Union Power Secretary in the Government of India has been appointed as an Advisor (on Energy) to the Andhra Pradesh Government. He is 1963 batch retired IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre.

Pawan Kumar Jain, a DIG rank officer, has been appointed Director Culture in Madhya Pradesh. He is 1987 batch IPS officer.

Puneet Kumar has joined the IIPA. 1993 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, Kumar, had been PS to the former Union Minister of State for Railways and Parliamentary Affairs.

IAS changes in Jharkhand

Sukhdev Singh will now be Secretary Welfare, NN Pandey - Commissioner South Chhota Nagpur Division, Chintu Nayak - Commissioner Simhbhumi Division, Avinash Kumar - Director Middle Education. Besides, 1985 batch IAS officer K Vidya Sagar, on his return from Central deputation, has been posted as Secretary prohibition, Sudhir Kumar Rahate has been moved to Delhi as Additional Resident Commissioner and Vinay Kumar Chaubey will be Additional Secretary IT.

Three new DMs in Bihar

Mssrs Atish Chandra ,Jitendra Shrivastava and S K Mishra will be new DMs of Madhubani,Bhojpur and Mujjafarpur districts respectively.

Though Murli Manohar Joshi's statement about Manmohan had the desired effect on the later, it was like hitting someone below the belt. Manmohan is not the run of the mill kind of politician and does not have the rhino hide! Like Vajpayee - not 'tired or retired', .Manmohan too was not 'absconding or responding' because Sonia was not deciding.

Anyway Soren has sent in his resignation…….Camp : Undisclosed Mine!!! After Daddy's (as he is popularly called) resignation , hope Mummy (Soren's wifey) will step out of the air conditioned room she had locked herself in and prepare for the journey back to Jharkhand????

Laloo has ordered Railways that in Railway food usage of Onion and Garlic should be discontinued. This also is attributed to Shivji………by the way Laloo, himself is an onion and garlic fanatic!!! Presumably considering both to be 'tamsik' he has decided to make Railways safe from various sexual crimes in his own way!!!!

Finance Commission came to Punjab and left in a quandary!!!! They felt Punjab has no need of assistance. In actuality Punjab is cash strapped and debt trapped. But, then how did the Commission come to their conclusion……do not blame them….with the red carpet and five star hospitality lavished on the visiting Commission Team, they thought Punjab was literally the land of plenty!!! In actuality Punjab should have put them up in one of the Government's dilapidated Guest Houses (in which the rooms and toilet smell alike) and made them travel in auto rickshaws…..and still as per the condition of the Punjab exchequer this would have been spend-thriftiness.

Rupee plummeting, Foreign Exchange Reserves depleting, Inflation going up, Deficit gap increasing……Congress's report card is indeed disheartening.
