Four 1969 batch IAS officers empanelled

As many as four 1969 batch IAS officers are believed to have been empanelled to the rank of Secretary in Government of India during the last review meeting. They are Mssrs K M Sahni (UT), Lalgudi Vaidhyanathan Saptharishi (West Bengal), Suman Swarup (UT) and Sushma Chowdary (J&K).

Prasanna Kumar to be JS Agriculture !

Dr G Prasanna Kumar is likely to join the Ministry of Agriculture in Government of India to look after the National Commission on Farmers. He is 1975 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer.

Dr Banerjee to be JS Science and Technology !

Dr A K Banerjee is likely to be appointed Joint Secretary Science and Technology in the Government of India. He is 1973 batch IAAS officer.

Three new CBDT Members

Names of three new Members of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have been cleared.They are Mssrs A S Narang,Sikandar Talwar and Jagdish Jha.

Did RAW official pass on important information?

Rabinder Singh, Joint Director, RAW, who defected recently continues to send shockwaves in the government. Adivisor to PM, MK Narayanan has stumbled on file which ordered action against Singh on May 14th. Intrestingly he disappeared the same day. Though government has not yet ordered a formal inquiry in the matter, it is now suspected that the officer allegedly passed on the information of about 200 top IAS and IPS officers' kin and relatives who are studying abroad or working in western countries. This compilation was done by RAW at the behest of NDA government. How lethal this information can be is anybodys guess, as even in present government top officers wards are students in western countries particularly USA or are working with Multi Nationals.

Ms Ravi to be Deputy Secretary NAC

Former Collector of Godhra, Ms Jayanthi Srinivasan Ravi, is joining the National Advisory Council as Deputy Secretary. She is 1991 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.

Mishra to take over as DGP of Orissa

Special Secretary Home in the Government of India will take over as DGP of Orissa on August 1. He is 1967 batch IPS officer.

Alok Shrivastava joins IIPA

Alok Shrivastava, PS to two former Union Ministers, has joined IIPA. He is 1984 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

NTC to have new Chairman?

Sudhir Bhargava will no longer be the Chairman of National Textile Corporation, if the sources close to the Union Textile Minister Shankar Singh Vaghela are to be believed. The minister has already made up his mind to change the 1979 batch IAS officer Sudhir Bhargava.

Changes in Judiciary on cards

GS Singhvi, judge no. 2, of the Chandigarh HC, is soon likely to go as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court whereas the present CJ BC Roy of the Chandigragh HC is likely to go as CJ of Calcutta HC.

Anand Kumar to be promoted next month

Anand Kumar is being promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary next month. 1984 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer is currently posted in the Election Commission.
