Grapevine has it that Suman Swarup is being appointed Secretary Toursim in the Government of India. She is 1969 batch IAS officer of UT cadre. Name of K M Sahni is also in circulation. Secretary Tourism, Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, Rathi Vinay Jha is retiring on July 31.

When NDA was in power Mani Shankar Aiyer was footing his own fuel bill and so he vociferously protested against fuel hikes then…..Now when the Sarkaar foots his fuel bill, Aiyer has forgotten the good old days when he used to protest against hike in fuel prices. I think we all liked Citizen Aiyer ……who cared damn hoot for the bottom lines of the Oil Companies and worried about his own pocket!!!!

Oil prices can rise or fall every two weeks….rise will of course be Commies permitting. Commies want the Oil Companies to absorb some of the price fluctuations ………stop that knee jerk reaction when the prices go up!!!!

Even on the deficit , Commies feel this is not a bad word. Commies have their own economic fundas…….they consider Deficit as a Bridge because in their economics, Deficit is a necessity……. the Bridge depends on the span and the kind of suspension of the Bridge!!!! Union External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh , aka Nutwar , seems to have committed a mistake when he told the relatives of the Indian hostages in Iraq that the abductors appear to have done it for money. The intelligence and the diplomatic community got a jolt on Sunday when headlines screamed 'Iraq hostages may be freed for ransom'. "Singh is not being careful in his statements," said a former member of the Joint Intelligence Committee……Sonia must do something about her 'foot in mouth' selection!!!!

A good idea would be to swap the hostages with Natwar Singh and then allow him to carry out negotiations with the abductors in captivity, that is with his own head on the block!!!! Maybe this will cure his 'foot in mouth' …. though only temporarily!!!!!

NDA has taken their boycott to the next step…..now they will boycott all the consultative and standing committees of Parliament….UPA has become the Under Pressure Alliance……..Manmohan must be thinking he should have accepted sacking Taslimuddin ….Advani had proposed this as a way of diffusing the situation!!!

Somanth Da is trying his best to make the NDA reconsider their boycott decision. He has even promised them that next time around when he is an ordinary Member of the House he will go easy on them. DD is running into losses. In house studies at DD show that the Question Hour Transmission from Parliament could become a money-spinner, of course some modifications are required. For starters the programme is being renamed to Tu Tu Mein Mein. Animation , the cricket type, will appear at the bottom of the screen for various situations in Parliament….. like when a Speaker keeps talking inspite of the heckling…..a caricature of a man talking with ear muffs on his ears…laghe raho…….or one MP staring another MP down……caricature of one MP shooting bullets from his eyes…..akhiyon se goli maare……or MPs running into the Well of the House….caricature of frogs jumping into the Well……koowen (well) ke maindak.
