D R S Chaudhry will be new Joint Secretary Heavy Industries in Government of India. He is 1977 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Is Election Commission aware ?

While the Election Commission has clearly defined various protocols under the Model Code of Conduct for Elections 2004 and has effectively taken cognizance of numerous offences committed in violation of the same, through out the country, the Congress led Govt of Punjab has uniquely managed to dodge the Election Commission in a truly remarkable way.The Model Code of Conduct clearly mentions in it's second postulate the following, "Criticism of other political parties , when made, shall be confined to their policies and programme, past record and work. Parties and Candidates shall refrain from criticism of all aspects of private life, not connected with the public activities of the leaders or workers of other parties. Criticism of other parties or their workers based on unverified allegations or distortion shall be avoided." (source: http://www.indian-elections . com/model-code-of-conduct.html)The code of conduct also categorically states that the party in power shall not utilize official machinery in it's favour under any circumstance.But if one goes through the official website of the Punjab Govt , www.punjabgov.net, then one is left dumbstruck to find that the Amarinder Singh led Congress Govt has openly and brazenly displayed on it's official, Punjab Govt Website…..the allegations against Parkash Singh Badal, Akali Supremo which it has used to file various FIR's and cases against them through the Vigilance Cell.All the links of Punjab Govt Website, under a title called "Punjab's Fight Against Corruption" clearly belittle and decry the integrity and personal standing of a political opponent.Isn't this a Violation of the Model Code of Conduct. After all the site is maintained by the Government of Punjab itself. Is there any other state in the country which has listed the FIR's, cases and challans of the leader of the opposition on it's official website during the elections?.
