Coal Secretary PC Parekh is reported to have rejoined after an assurance of justice from none other than the Prime Minister. Navy appointments

Vice Admiral Venkat Bharathan PVSM AVSM VSM, Chief of Personnel has been appointed as Vice Chief of Naval Staff with effect from 31 Oct 05. He will take over from Vice Admiral Yashwant Prasad PVSM AVSM VSM who will retire on that day. Vice Admiral Sureeesh Mehta PVSM AVSM, presently Deputy Chief of Naval Staff will take over as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command from Vice Admiral O P Bansal PVSM AVSM VSM, when he retires from service on 30 Sep 05. Vice Admiral JS Bedi UYSM AVSM, VSM, the Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition will be the new Deputy Chief of Naval Staff.
Consequent to the retirement of Vice Admiral P Jaitly PVSM AVSM VSM, on 31 Aug Vice Admiral DSP Verma AVSM VSM, will take over as the Chief of Material.
