Sunil Mittal these days seems worried following the government preparedness in bringing a bill to increase FDI in telecommunications from the present 49 to 74 per cent. What is the cause of concern for Mittal is a provision in the Bill which empowers the government to restrict FDI for those companies which, like AIRTEl, are engaged in outsourcing. The government may be having it's own reasons and compulsions behind opting for such a bill but business circles see it as an attempt to teach AIRTEL a lesson for supporting Amitabh Bachchan's KBC-II. Who does not know the strained relations between Amitabh and 10-Janpath?
