Crisis management of ONGC lauded The crisis management of the recent tragedy at ONGC's Mumbai High has evoked praise from all quarters . Of the 383 personnel who were deployed on the platform, 361 personnel have survived. The miraculous number of survivors is apparently lost on the babus in the corridors of power. Instead of lauding the efforts of the management, doubts are being raised on the ability of ONGC. The importance of survival at sea training, mock safety drills and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) imparted to the offshore personnel helped in averting a bigger tragedy. It is the single minded mission and stress laid on safety training by Mr. Subir Raha, C&MD, ONGC that has helped ONGC in its hour of crisis. The HSE standards in ONGC's installations are a lesson to other industries. The confidence of the bourses is obviously more than that of the mandarins in mantralaya. The ONGC share price has been rising steadily post-tragedy. At this time of crisis, the Nation should stand by the organization that handled the unprecedented tragedy in such difficult condition with great courage. Allahabad Bank has no Government Nominee Appointment of Government nominee as a Director in the Allahbad Bank is yet to be made. |
