Second Green Revolution-Corporate sector to be involved

Second Green Revolution is likely to provide renewed focus on the agricultural sector of the country. With thePrime Minister having set up a group of Ministers's Committee with TKA Nair, Principal Secretary to the PM as Convenor, lot of behind the scene activities are going on. According to grapevine, senior IAS officers with proven record in the rural sector management are likely to be appointed Agricultural Production Commissioners in all the States. Agricultural Universities are to be revamped. But more important is the role that the premier research organization of the country, namely, Indian Council of Agricultural Research is going to play in ushering in the Second Green Revolution. This time, the corporate sector will be involved in a big way to give boost to the agricultural sector. If everything goes well, in another six months, Second Green Revolution will be visible in the country.
